Road Trip!!!!

The SF goes back to work tomorrow for the first time since his return from the convention, so it warranted a day of rest and relaxation. ROAD TRIP!!! Since he does a fair amount of travelling around for work, there aren't too many places within an hour or two drive that he hasn't seen yet. Today's road trip, however, did not fall into that category - Morell and St. Peter.

Along the way we found this field of wildflowers. (Actually most of them are flowering weeds, but they still made quite an impact.)

Then we hit the beach. St. Peters Harbour. Sand, surf, sun, dunes...what more could you ask for?

My two men lost in their thoughts. Too bad Ernie hasn't figured out that you are supposed to look out toward the ocean when you are daydreaming.

This home is located on St. Peters Lake, right beside the ocean. What a view they have!

A view toward the dunes. Notice the tents on the right hand side. There was a grouping of about six tents pitched right on the beach.

Then it was off to St. Peters where we dined al fresco, at Rick's Fish 'N Chips. Nothing like fresh sea air, the warmth of the sun on your back, a picnic table and a healthy serving of fish and chips (PEI potatoes, of course) accompanied by its third counterpart, sweet delicious coleslaw.

Dear Ernie, while I can sense you staring at me from under the picnic table whilst I dine on my fish & chips (yes, I cheated again), it does not nearly have the same impact as you sending me the death glare while we eat at the kitchen table where you are capable of having direct eye contact with me. It just isn't happenin'. (Of course you all know that I shared my fish & chips with him.)

This pedestrian bridge crosses the waterway at St. Peters Landing, a local retail outlet, and forms part of the Confederation Trail.

For a relatively small community, there are several impressive churches. In fact, this Catholic church resides on one side of St. Peters Bay, with an equally imposing United church on the opposite side.

After a fun-filled day, someone apparently had a little too much excitement. He pretty much passed out as soon as we got into the car and slept the whole way home. Actually he's still sleeping and we've been home for hours.

Can't wait to take our friends & family to this endearing spot!
